Although ex-military, I've never seen bodies fly apart nor the aftermath (although carried many body bags on my ship during last days of VN). So I really don't know what psychological impact that would have on me. Guess I've just been hardened from 65 years of life and seeing enough death and blood that I'm okay with certain people being blown apart.
Still, my biggest fear is watching a little doggie go through torment. Can't explain it, but that's who I am.
I see nothing in that face that warranted mercy. To me he looked arrogant and anything but contrite. Good riddance.
