Ugh.

Will someone PLEASE take all communications and travel equipment away from the Pope and his entourage, and envelop the Vatican in a giant Maxwell-Smart-level “cone of silence” until they resign?

If the threat of rising sea levels were a real problem, we would be doing the following:

1. Building dikes (much of the Netherlands is reclaimed from the sea)
   
2. Building massive civil engineering projects to divert sea water from the oceans to totally or relatively uninhabited below sea level areas. Egypt's Qatarra Depression, the Caspian Sea, Death Valley, just to name three.

We would not be trading carbon credits or limiting industrial output of only capitalistic inclined nations.
