Where did I blame anything on God? I thank Him every day that He gave my son to me and not to somebody who thinks he has “flaws.” I can’t remember who posted that this particular girl is defective, but I did respond to him/her. A pro-life conservative would never refer to a person with ASD as defective, since defective is an excuse for pro-aborts. You are welcome to skim the thread for the post. Of course you thank God for your baby. My husband’s family and I thank God for his mentally retarded aunt. We adore her.
Yet at the same time, we understand that she has problems. Why would we deny that? Retardation means what it means-—cognitively impaired. My husband’s grandparents and his family don’t go around saying the aunt is perfect or doesn’t have flaws because it simply isn’t true.
Therefore, you don’t blame God for the special needs of children anymore than you blame Him for any other issues.
