Then how Corker blocked it in 2015 at the committee level and substituted his own legislation, and Kirk had to bring his legislation thru the banking committee.
If McConnell had not been playing politics, he would have fallen in behind Corker then, and if not then, McConnell should have fallen in behind Corker when McCain, Graham, and King did.
The damage is already done. There are a lot of democrats on board, but they have some mistrust of McConnell and other GOPers and if they think McConnell and the GOP are playing politics with the final negotiated agreement, they will disappear like a covey of quail.
