“Was any of this necessary for any other sitting president? No one wants to acknowledge why it’s become necessary for this one.”

When Truman left office, he returned home on a public train. I guess he wasn’t overly worried about Soviet agents, bitter Nazi sympathizers or outraged Japanese. In contrast, Obama will live behind closed doors and be protected by Secret Service agents for the rest of his life. Would the Presidency really be worth living in a fish bowl from now on?

You stated the reason he won’t be living in a fish bowl in his retirement - he will still be protected the same as he is now; golf courses and all!! I don’t expect there will be any changes. EXCEPT maybe that will free up the ones who have had that duty through his presidency to SPEAK UP. We can always HOPE. Isn’t that what the man told us?

I’m curious as to what he and the family -
THE WHOLE FAM DAMILY; MIL, AUNTS/UNCLES,COUSINS will be doing for transportation when he leaves office! Hijack Air Force One for their own use? I think he could call on some of HIS FRIENDS to take care of that for him. What a piece of work he is!
