The fact is Huckabee is well-liked by many evangelicals in Iowa because they know he is a true believer when it comes to social issues. You're not going to persuade them by mudslinging and making personal attacks on Huckabee. It comes off as anti-Christian or, at best, classless.
This isn't mud-slinging Kazan, even though you want any discussion about the relevant merits of Huckabee's record declared as mud-slinging and off-base for discussion purposes.
Yes, Huckabee is good on the Social issues, but he is not a conservative, especially where fiscal issues are concerned.
He is only partially conservative and we don't need a partial conservative, we need a full-spectrum conservative.
With respect to "these tactics", we are simply posting the truth about Huckabee, if that turns people off, so be it.

I like Huckabee personally and so do a lot of other Christian. I enjoyed his show on Fox. I hope Fox brings him back after the primaries.
Making Huckabee out to be a Marxist, snake oil salesman and making personal attacks on him simply makes one like like bully. In many cases, the root cause of these attacks are anti-Christian bigotry.
Christians will rally around one of their own when he or she is viciously attacked.
