Conventional wisdom ain't gonna work this time around. Too many conservatives are angry and ready to tell the GOP-E to pound sand.

All conservatives aren't Republicans.

Many republicans aren't conservative.

I've read more than once that millions of Evangelicals simply don't vote. If a few million turn out in places like Florida, Iowa, Virginia, Ohio, Wisconsin, then we have it.

Ted Cruz is the only candidate that has a chance of bringing these Evangelicals to the polls...Unless of course they simply don't exist, in which case we can't win anyway.

Favorite son strategies (picking a candidate based on needing a state) haven’t been effective for years. If it’s not a GOP wave year, having a pres/vp ticket from FL/OH isn’t going to win anyway.

Closest states 2012
in order of smallest % margin

Florida
Ohio
Virginia
[North Carolina]
Colorado

Hold NC and flip the above four is simplest route.

Next closest states:
Pennsylvania
Iowa
New Hampshire
Nevada
Wisconsin
