Commenting on the two men who were killed while trying to shoot up a Draw Muhammed contest on Sunday in Texas and the woman who organized the contest, activist Pam Geller, Lt. Gen. William Boykin (ret.) said there is a double standard when it comes to Islam and that U.S. leaders need to stand up against this evil in America that uses violence to threaten the First Amendment.
VIDEO 2:40 minutes: Gen. Boykin supports the First Amendment and Pam Geller
I wish that as a nation there were more and more of our leaders that had the same kind of courage that this woman [Pam Geller] has, said Lt. Gen. Boykin (ret.), who is the executive vice president of the Family Research Council (FRC). [S]hes a very brave woman and I think that what she did was upholding and standing for our First Amendment rights. And I dont think she went too far at all.
Boykin made his remarks on the May 5 edition of Fox & Friends. Geller, who is a political activist, strong critic of radical Islam, and a co-founder of the group American Freedom Defense Initiative, organized the Draw Muhammed cartoon contest in Garland, Texas.
At that May 3 event, two men arrived and shot a security guard, wounding him. Police, at the scene, quickly returned fire and killed the two attackers. Both shooters were Muslim radicals and the Islamic State has praised them as soldiers of the caliphate.
On Fox & Friends, one of the hosts reported that Geller apparently spent $50,000 for security at the cartoon event and asked Lt. Gen. Boykin, Does this speak volumes about the direction of our country when it comes to free speech? Are people so scared to talk publicly about their views because theyre worried about offending other people?
Boykin said, Theres no question about it. I think Pam said it, and I saw some of her interviews yesterday and I think she said it very eloquently and very articulately. When a cartoon stimulates people to kill you, when they believe theyre justified in doing so because of their, quote, religion, were upside down.
The general continued, If we dont stand up to that kind of evil, if we dont keep going back to the foundations of this nation and recognize what the First Amendment was designed to do it was not designed to protect us from things that we would agree with, that we would accept. It was designed to protect us, our ability to be able to speak about things that will be controversial and provocative.
I saw people on this network last week stomping on an American flag, said Boykin. I even saw a female veteran take that flag and try to protect it. I was offended by that, as were millions of Americans. But we have no right, no authority to stand with weapons in our hands to say that you cant do that.
There is such a double standard here when it comes to Islam, said Lt. Gen. Boykin, and I think its time for more of our leadership to take the same posture and the same position that Pam Geller has taken and stand up against this evil in America.
Later, in a May 5 Facebook post, Boykin further said of the issue, "We must recognize that when the enemy cannot tolerate a simple cartoon and must act out violently, we are dealing with the upper echelon of radicalization, and a very real threat to our liberties."
"This threat is already taking hold when pundits and politicians spend an entire news cycle debating whether or not free speech should be protected in certain situations and whether or not Pamela Geller and those at her event should have been allowed to say and do what they did," said Boykin on Facebook.
"Whats worse, those claiming she pushed too far or had it coming are akin to those saying a woman who was raped 'had it coming' because of how she was dressed," he said. "Its absurd and insulting to the victims who were expressing their Constitutional right to free speech."
Lt. Gen. William G. Jerry Boykin is a former chief of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, an original member of Delta Force, and he was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Boykin also is an ordained minister. He is married and has five children.
This isn’t a First Amendment issue. It’s a Murderous Terrorists issue.
Agreed...It amazes me that so many have come out and said Pam Geller incited the terrorists.
And now they are targeted. Not by the terrorists but the white house.
Yeah. Soon to be Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin (Ret.)...
*nevermind*
Je Suis Pamela Geller
The ONLY issue I have with this whole thing, is that I would be upset if there was a public “Make a piss Christ” event. I would be very upset. We shouldn’t go out of our way to offend people.
That being said, I am extremely happy that 2 terrorists were shot and killed and will be judged; because their false god and cult tells them to kill people who insult them or their dead, demonically possesed false prophet.
BUMP
What it does show is that it takes the Second Amendment to guarantee the First.
I wish that as a nation there were more and more of our leaders that had the same kind of courage that this woman [Pam Geller] has, said Lt. Gen. Boykin (ret.),
I absolutely respect and support them both
SHAMEFUL ATTACKS BY THE DHIMMIT MEDIA TO PAMELA GELLER AND GERT WILDERS
I wish that as a nation there were more and more of our leaders that had the same kind of courage that this woman [Pam Geller] has, said Lt. Gen. Boykin (ret.), who is the executive vice president of the Family Research Council (FRC). [S]hes a very brave woman and I think that what she did was upholding and standing for our First Amendment rights. And I dont think she went too far at all.
The American Dhimmitude media, cowed by Islamic violence, has accepted total submission to the mandates of the Islamic terrorists.
Pamela Geller, Gert Wilders, and Bosch Fawstin (the winner of the contest) are real heroes that have not accepted to be intimidated by Islamic terrorists. It is denigrating for the American media to see their pundits attacking the freedom of expression of those opposed to the Islamization of U.S.
On January 17,2015 and in the same public school center, there was a Stand with the Prophet rally by Muslims, a provocative pro-Shariah law event, by supporters of Al-Qaida and Isis organized by one of the terrorists implicated in the bombing of the garage of the NY World Trade Center in 1993.
I wonder if those who try to blame the organizers of the First Annual Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest, for the Muslim terrorist attack would have justified if a patriotic American had irrupted in the Muslim rally on January and made a massacre of Islamic terrorists. After all, Americans are profoundly offended by their provocation and the abuse of our freedoms by those who made the Muslim rally in support of the savages that decapitate, crucify and burned Christians alive.
The Dhimmitude media, scared by Islamic violence, auto-censors itself and tries to justify the terrorist attack in Texas because the Mohamed cartoons contest offended the sensibility of Islamic terrorists.
On January 2015, radical Islamists desecrated the holy soil of Texas. Do not mess with Texas!!!

Iranian Commander: We Wont Rest Until US is an Islamic Republic
Dont allow Obama and the media fool us, radical Islam officially declared war against U.S. on 9/11/2001.
In Switzerland everybody is drafted and they keep their arms in home in case they need to defend their country. It is imperative that all American arm themselves, the jihadists are already in and can attack any time our churches, malls, theaters, slaughtering innocents men women and children as they are massacring Christians in Africa and the Middle East.
BTTT!
I propose that a national gun rights groups draft and publish a ceremony for patriots to commit to the cause of counter-jihad against Muslim terrorism.
Conducted something like this:
A line of firers’ tables are set up at an outdoor range. Patriots line up alongside the tables with two items, their rifle or pistol cartridges and a kitchen cannister of bacon drippings. Weapons are either holstered or slung.
The range control officer instructs patriots to remove each bullet from its container (firing blocks work better than boxes), dip it into the pig grease, hold it overhead & then return it to the block. All this to be done in unison.
Number of repetitions of bullet dipping to be determined.
Patriots then about face from the firing line and receive from the tower an oath by which they dedicate themselves, their weapons, and their ammo to the cause of liberty & resistance to Islamic terrorism.
Then resume normal range firing.
Thoughts?
It seems to me they’re way too sensitive, considering what they believe is okay and honorable even, such as pouring fuel on a live person and setting them on fire while they’re held captive in a cage, or slicing the heads off men with their hands tied behind their backs — all done on camera for the world to witness and fear — including the slaughter of children, which offends me greatly.
And our complicit government and media do their best to deflect from the evil staring us in the face while telling us over and over again that we’re the ones in the wrong.
Now the world gets to witness how easily they go down when we refuse to be captured and tortured in the name of their demon. They’re not so scarey after all.
I say offend them and smoke them out into the open. That’ll make it harder, although not impossible, for obama to quietly initiate sharia with his bloody pen.
Muslims and their sympathizers come unhinged whenever some one defames the prophet or Islam, but Muslims can defame Jews with every slander and vile remark and even openly murder Christians and no one seems to care. Muslims are at best hypocrites if not totally intolerant of any other religion. Contrary to the teachings of Mohammed, Christians turn the other cheek when slandered if not persecuted instead of seeking revenge.
Absolutely correct.
