Because the GOP gets a much higher percentage of womeen voters than Democrats do white voters.

The ODonnell bit opened with this statement,
"Haley is one of only three female Republican governors nationwide . . . "The curious thing is that the number of female democrat governors nationwide is - three. I wonder why it was important to use the word only when it is not an unusual quantity in this instance.
