Hoping to highlight good works, Clintons find controversy instead

MARRAKESH, Morocco — Bill and Chelsea Clinton are convening foreign leaders here at a lush golf resort set in a palm grove this week to showcase their foundation’s charitable work. But the conference also highlights new controversies engulfing the Clinton family’s vast philanthropic enterprises as Hillary Rodham Clinton begins her presidential campaign.

A liberal human rights organization and several Republican lawmakers, for instance, are criticizing the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation for accepting donations from a Moroccan government-owned mining company, whose seven-figure sponsorship of this week’s gathering came amid growing scrutiny of foreign-government donations.

Meanwhile, some blue-chip companies that have long provided large donations to the Clinton Foundation are pulling back or reassessing their support.

An Exxon Mobil spokesman said this week that the company has decided not to be involved in the Clinton Global Initiative this year. The oil company said its decision was unrelated to recent scrutiny of the foundation, but this is the first year it has not been a sponsor since 2009. Other sponsors, including Monsanto, are reevaluating their partnerships.

This week’s flashy Morocco conference — a first-ever Africa and Middle East spinoff of the flagship CGI held each September in New York — underscores the foundation’s controversial fundraising practices, which have become a potential anchor on Hillary Clinton’s nascent campaign.

To the Clintons, “good works” means not getting caught while engaging in illegal activities.

Bill Clinton is obviously a charming guy...and just as obviously as crooked as a hound dog's leg. Been that way for a long, long time.

Highlighting “good works” isn’t working?

Time for Clinton to start emphasizing his faith again. Where’s that Giant Economy Size Bible? The Monica Bible, I mean.

The Clinton Foundation formula: 90% corruption, 10% somehow sneaks through to some charities....

I can’t believe that Chelsea left her new baby for such a long overseas trip.

If Clinton counts hopping on a private jet w/ rich celebrities as "charity work," then the Kardashian sisters should be eligible for sainthood. (Sean Davis, The Federalist)

SUCKING UP TO THE MINORITY VOTE---The billionaire do-good itinerary includes Tanzania, then Kenya and a visit to a Clinton Global Initiative-funded anti-elephant poaching project – followed by Liberia. Last is Morocco, where King Mohammed VI will host an opulent conference paid for by Moroccan donors including a govt-owned phosphate company – which donated $1 million, according to Politico.(Although no one has admitted what favors they rec'd from Hillary's State Dept.)

Bill Clinton and daughter Chelsea with a plane-full of family foundation donors and Hillary Clinton supporters in tow, travel together on a nine-day safari....adding fuel to accusations that contributors are getting rewarded -- and are being ***-kissed for even more money for Hillary.

ALL ABOARD THE "DO-GOOD AND MAKING A BUCK ON IT" private jet. The idea is to observe foreign projects the Clinton Global Initiative has financed WRT health care, global warming, wildlife protection, education and agriculture, amid the growing controversy over donations to the Clinton family's foundation. Yet another nauseating example of donors -- to both the foundation and Hillary's campaign -- getting something in return.

But wait----the Clinton entourage---big-buck foundation donors and Hillary campaign suck-ups are lying-in-wait. Salivating for Hillary to wield the presidential pen....payback w/ huge interest (paid for by struggling taxpayers).

ALL THIS AS CANDIDATE HILLARY HYPOCRITICALLY "CHAMPIONS" THE MIDDLE-CLASS their billionaire pals are the ones who will be looting the US Treasury.

Bill says “I gotta pay our bills” WRT pocketing $500,000-750,0000 speaking fees.

Well, yeah---he does have a lotta bills.

Although "dead broke," the Clinton bought this $5.95 million mansion in Chappaqua, NY in 1999, after they left the WH. The house has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, now estimated to be worth $6.84 million. Monthly bills for the upkeep on Hillary's salary?

The Clintons paid $2.85 million for this Washington DC house in the Observatory Circle nabe. The Georgian Colonial is 5,152 square feet, has four bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, Monthly upkeep on Hillary's salary?

==========================================================

How did Chelsea and hubby Marc Mezvinsky afford this $10 million condo?

============================================

Chelsea has no job...so how does she and hubby afford the costly furnishings, upkeep, and expenses for high-end living? Chelsea's husband runs a flailing hedge fund that gained access to investors who had ties to the Clintons---even as reports surfaced that Mezvinsky's hedge fund had "underwhelming" returns.

The WSJ reports extensively on the fund's underperformance since its inception. Also reported was Mezvinsky's mediocre investing and strategizing. Back in 2011, Mezvinsky, now 37, and two former Goldman Sachs colleagues — Bennett Grau and Mark Mallon — began raising money for Mezvinsky's Eaglevale Partners LP hedge fund. Some of Eaglevale's investors included Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein. Blankfein, a slavish Democrat supporter, said he had "always been a fan of Hillary Clinton."

==============================================

The Clinton/Goldman Sachs connection sounds awfully familiar. Then-Pres Clinton's WH
aide Rahm Emanuel also worked as a Goldman Sachs lobbyist.....both at the same time.

Not to forget this....

Then-US Sen Clinton and US Sen Jon Corzine. Corzine was fresh out of Goldman Sachs
executive suite. Remember, Wall Street makes money disappear faster than a cream puff at a
Weight Watchers weigh-in.
