The Christian church is growing in China. Perhaps the Gospel will have a greater opportunity for a time due to this change. However, in the kingdom of Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon and during the Roman Empire you could hold any religious belief you wanted as long as you bowled the knee to the Ponticus Maximus, Caesar (or Nebuchadnezzar in the case of Babylon). Look for governments to move in the same direction as they try to consolidate their power and force people groups, that have little in common, together. It’s going to be one big ecumenical push until it comes down to taking the mark and bowing to the Antichrist.
Interesting that it did not institutionalize Confucianism as it did the others.
