They do this in many places.
Amazingly, they never run out of dealers OR drugs.
The hard line approach does *not* work.
I am not for everybody doing drugs. I’m for letting go of an ineffective approach and trying something that has had success in other places.
I’m also about NOT giving up more of our freedoms in the name of the WOD.
The Libertarians have been spreading the propaganda for years that the Socialist Policies of the Socialist government of Portugal are "working" at least according to the Socialist Government of Portugal, and of course the Libertarians are all too happy to spread this lie so long as it supports their dope legalizing agenda.
I've seen contrary data, but I am too disgusted with this successful propaganda tactic to bother looking it up right now. Needless to say, what is occurring in Portugal is a propaganda success, but not an actual success.
If they can't keep drugs out of prisons, where they have absolute and complete control and the population has no constitutional rights to speak of, how the hell do they expect it to work in an allegedly free society?
The simple answer is they don't. The drug war is an excuse used to butress the ever expanding power of the police state, and the money it generates. Asset forfeiture is big business.
