SAN MARCOS, Texas – A reserve sheriff's deputy is facing aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges after police say he opened fire on a truck driver he thought had cut him off.

After nearly 15 years behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler, Frank Collins III thought he had seen it all. He was wrong.

"Never seen nothing like this," the 56-year-old said. "It's just too far-fetched."

But what the Fort Worth man experienced late Sunday night actually happened, according to San Marcos police.

Collins was driving along an Interstate 35 frontage road outside of Austin when he says he was suddenly cut off by a red pickup truck.

I heard a fairly literate black activist in Baltimore ask a a newscaster why is the word of the police always accepted over the word of one of his brothers (or for that matter an average white citizen too)?

They aren’t always ethical. They have egos and agendas of giving speeding tickets to make their bosses happy and get raises. They may fudge evidence of minor or major crimes to look good. Some have been known to be in bed with the mob and narcotics dealers and prostitutes.

So why then are we (and more importantly judges) putting them on a pedestal and believing their every word over the word of average citizens who they claim to serve? It’s more than past time to put “trust but verify” into place where undercover authorities regularly set up stings to verify the integrity of politicians and police and others, that are supposedly serving us while on our generous dole. To be frankly honest I no longer blindly trust our political system and those in authority without major checks and balances.

Is this what liberal turds mean when they say only people like police should have guns.....................because they use them safely?

For instance, just yesterday I saw the story of the police dog biting the man in the face for not getting off the sofa.

Yep. They told him to put his hands up.

He did.

They told him to stand up. You try standing up from a sofa without putting your hands down.

Of course, if he put his hands down they would have claimed he was reaching for a weapon, and given the empty sheath on the coffee table it would have gone down as another in an endless series of righteous shoots.

The jackboot lickers will be along soon, if they are not already here to defend him and say the truck driver got what he deserved.

I was coming home from the movie theater one night with my wife and kiddos in the car. Just crossed a busy intersection and stopped at the next stop sign. A Harris county squad car flies up beside me (two lane road) in the oncoming lane.

The deputy looked slumped down in the car, all I could see was his head. I rolled down my window and he starts raging at me, “if you do that again, I’ll take you to jail”. I said, “what did I do?” He rages again, “don’t you play dumb with me, I’ll take you to jail”.....varooom. He speeds off.

I thought...what a F’n nutcase.

No, I do not know what you are referring to, my questions made no assumptions, they are simply questions related to human nature.

I am not sure why you are even saying that.

The premise of them is simply that it’s not just police that kill people, people who are not police also kill people. The fact is that people kill people and have done so since their dawn, and because people become police, it’s reasonable to expect that police will also kill people.

Then I asked you do you think that there is a remedy to stop people from killing people, and I then asked if you think that federalizing police forces would prevent people and police from killing people.

And the reason I asked about federalizing police is because it seems to me that is the direction this country is moving in, and I don’t think doing that will prevent people or police from killing people, and in fact I think doing so will make it much worse.

I mean, seriously, they are just questions, I’m not stupid or naive, and I’m wondering if you are paranoid... frankly, I wished I hadn’t asked you, I regret it at this point. Seems like a mistake on my part.

You are very fortunate that he did not shot you, because, as a jackboot licker said [wrote] on another thread, “in his mind, you could be armed” and intending to kill him.

I think you are right about that. I do not think that I could get up from a reclining position without using my hands. I am getting old, you know, I am not as fit as I used to be.

And I can see where they might say oh you put your hands down i thought you were reaching for something, then BANG!

I further can’t understand the dog’s role there. Do they mean to tell me that there was no other way to resolve that situation without sending in an attack dog?

I mean, I support police using dogs in certain instances, sure, but I don’t know why one was used then... guy wasn’t even doing anything or being any sort of threat, and that dog ate his face pretty good.

I do defend police when i think police need to be defended, but I don’t defend those police in that instance. That was outrageous.

Guy burns a Christmas tree and gets a German Shepherd to the face.

I love German Shepherds, but I do not want one attached to my face unless they are just licking me!

Just because you think I am playing dumb, doesn’t mean I am playing dumb, that’s why I said paranoid...

But yeah, have a nice Sunday night.

The death penalty for non-accidental deaths was supposed to be the deterrent, but it has to be enforced. The reason the Old Testament law didn’t work was because it was not enforced. IMHO.

Even when it is being enforced, it’s not really being enforced.

I watched an episode of a program on ID Channel earlier today where a person put on death row ended up dying of cancer on death row 21 years later...

I am a supporter of the death penalty though, and even when it comes to police, if an officer committed the crime of capital murder or murder in the first degree such that it was covered by the death penalty, then I would support that penalty being applied.

If an officer commits a lesser crime than that, such as second degree murder, then I would support those penalties associated with that type of charge. What I mean to say is that I don’t think an officer should be given the death penalty if it does not apply to any crime he committed.

I just watched the new Robocop last week on Netflix.

I liked the original better.

I think the story was better.
