I retired in 2002 and I have only one regret — I should have done it 10 years sooner. ;>)

I enjoyed my 30 years, but I am very happy to be out of it.

Thank you Gator for your service.

I try to thank the police, fire fighters military service men and women for their service.

It means a whole lot to them when they hear it from a civilian.

I once thanked a Congressional Metal of Honor vet for his service in the Korean War.

I was 56 when I retired in 2003. I didn’t miss the job. I missed the officers I worked with. The department had really gone down the tubes by the time I left, and I felt sorry for the people who were still stuck there.
