I'd think not running from the cops would be a fairly standard condition of probation. Indeed. I was just speaking of the general statement of running from police as against some law. Especially if you have not yet been ordered to stop.

Especially if you have not yet been ordered to stop. That's the key, right there. If they did not order him to stop then he was under no obligation to stop.
