Console yourself with this; Stan Greenberg has had to see Rosa DeLauro naked.

Tax credits: Pretend money that can disappear in a wink. And then just try to get the gun back.

Congressional promises: Ask the Sioux.

Make that welfare for ex-gun-owners. But, sorry, it’s not even as tangible as welfare; it’s a promise from a member of congress sitting with the most dishonest and corrupt party in history. The question soon becomes, how many of the guns will Rosa sell and use the proceeds to establish the Rosa de Lauro Foundation? Gotta love those dem foundations.

I find posting from my phone annoying - so here's the full thought:

“These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”

That's something that every politician and would be tyrant should keep first and foremost in their outlook. That is precisely why I own such weapons and that is precisely why I will not register them, surrender them, or submit to their confiscation.

i just thought of something..

buy an old beat up does not work .22 for about 25 bucks..

get out your trusty old 1/2 horsepower grinder and grind a big old slot in the bottom of it..

find an old unusable 30 round magazine, beat it into the slot with a hammer, then caulk and tape it in place..

take your barely functioning “assault rifle” in and get your 2000 bucks!!!!!

To quote the 2012 presidential candidate for the GOP, Mitt Romney: “These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”

I guess that is why they want them all in the hands of the government!

Not sure why people are seeing this as "getting" $2000. A $2000 take credit would reduce your taxable income by $2000, not put $2000 in your pocket. You might end up with $250-$300 or so best case, or you could end up not benefiting at all.

This bill is saying turn in your valuable rifle and we the government might not take as much of your money at tax time but we are not going to give you a damn thing.

Just read the full article. They are saying credit but I would need to see the fine print on that, my bet is you would receive a slip of paper aging you can deduct 2k from your income. Don’t forget, they lie!!
