Sadly it appears that the Internet will save the miserable NYT. Online they seem to be doing OK. The printed version seems doomed. Hopefully sooner than later it will no longer be available on the streets of New York City.
Of course they will subsidize the printed version with digital sales for some time. But not forever. A few years at the most.
While the on-line revenue increase is impressive taken as a % of the prior year, in actual $ terms, it’s not enough to offset the loss from print ads.
