Clashes between police and desperate earthquake survivors broke out in Kathmandu on Wednesday as tempers frayed in the wake of a deadly earthquake that took more than 5,000 lives.
Frustration over the slow pace of the aid operation has been building on the streets of Nepals capital, where tens of thousands of people are sleeping rough in 16 makeshift refugee camps following the 7.8 magnitude quake.
Scuffles broke out at the citys main bus station on Wednesday morning after thousands of people swarmed there hoping to board vehicles back to their rural homes. When they were unable to travel, rioters armed with sticks surged into the street, attacking vehicles, according to Reuters.
'Where is our government?' ask survivors of Nepal earthquake
On Wednesday afternoon furious passengers who were still trying to escape Nepals devastated capital surrounded The Telegraph at the bus station.

Hat tip to BenLurkin for the heads up!
Looking out for themselves. You are on your own.
Has anyone heard anything about the avalanches that got triggered on Mt. Everest?
I’m not sure if this was the climbing season - the trails are filled with rich yuppies thinking they are climbers...
Correct they are a great number of climbers missing
Looks like the Mayor of Katmandu gave them space to destroy.

Kinda like the law abiding people in Baltimore: Abandoned.
Yes, we must attack those evil vehicles!
Baltimore business and property owners didn’t earn that. It was an easy decision by the Obamatron mayor to stand down the police and let it burn.
....”Where is our government?’ ask survivors of Nepal earthquake”.....
Once again in an extreme crisis causing insurmountable damage to life and home people think Government can just swoop in and take care of every need and rescue them from the situation. And it’s in the cities this outcry is happening.
It has not been a full week yet. You cannot expect Gov. can organize and move teams out, load up , and get there with the enormous amount that is needed even to stabilize the situation. Not to mention the injured and dying needing attention..
You guys have always been warning people to expect to be on your own and prepare for that. This is a good example of ‘dependent’ peoples high expectation that the rescue will happen like a drive thru McDonald’s.
I read there were over 1,000 climbers throughout Mt. Everest because this is the season for that.
There are many even here on FR who think that when the shtf that FEMA will be along quickly to bring them a ‘chilled’ bottle of water, a MRE, a warm blanket and a kiss for their boo-boo, boy are they going to be disappointed.
So...preppers should remember to go out and raise heck when TSHTF so folks won’t know you are prepared.

I hate to do a second PING! to a thread, but I think there is a point here and I want you all to really think about it.
Nepal is a 3rd world country. These people I used to doing with little or nothing, Nepal is remote and nothing and no one gets anywhere fast. Most everything is imported and moves at a snail’s pace and yet these people are rioting. Now imagine such an event here where we get our every whim almost immediately provided for, where even the poorest of us have live so far above the average citizen of Nepal that if they were to trade places they would consider that they had die and gone to heaven.
I’m already pretty gray (or is it grey?) but, I carry a big hunk of metal.
I am so Nepal’ed.
