(Reuters) - The Vatican and the United Nations teamed up to warn the world of the effects of climate change on Tuesday, coming down firmly against skeptics who deny human activities help change global weather patterns.
U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon discussed climate change with the pope before opening a one-day conference of scientists and religious leaders called "The Moral Dimensions of Climate Change and Sustainable Development".

Then the pope is no different than the Marxists who push this hoax.
Perhaps all climate change and global warming threads should be on the religion threads.
Or more specifically, the false religion threads.
I’ve said it for a while now: He’s an anti-Pope. Sigh. And it makes me sad.

I’m a Catholic and what the Vatican says these days goes in one ear and out the other. I still love the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. But this Pope is an outright Socialist and I’m tired of people apologizing for him saying it was all an error in the translation.
PFL
Dittos to what you both posted. /another Catholic
The “science” that “shows a problem” is about on a par with chicken entrail gazing.
The reason is very easy to understand! Has the Pope ever studied algebra? You cannot solve 10 equations for 20 variables. This is the equivalent of what is going on with the models.
sorry PROCON, that post #5 was meant for piytar.
Late in the day and I’m tired.
Not so much the Vatican, but the UN using the Vatican as an all too gullible tool... because it’s pretty weak in biblical theology these days.
“(Reuters) - The Vatican and the United Nations teamed up to warn the world of the effects of climate change on Tuesday, coming down firmly against skeptics who deny human activities help change global weather patterns.”
Let’s for $hi+$ and giggles say human activity does have an impact of our climate. Ok scientists, 1) what is the plan on fixing it, 2)how much will it cost, 3)what happens if the fix causes global cooling(with the assumption that it will happen the next day since there is such an emergency now) and 4) what is the mitigation plan if that happens.
Only when these questions are answered intelligently will I even consider the possibility.
And wow look at the weasel words... “help change global weather patterns” — even if THAT could be shown, do we have the knowledge to add “to the ill”?
One very good guess with very good evidence is that the earth will develop clouds where it needs them to prevent thermal runaways in the near term, and that works pretty jolly good! We really don’t know squat about the insolation of earth during the historical ice ages, there is no natural artifact of that. But that great ball of fire is poised to run earth’s temperatures up and down like a yo-yo if it wants. One point made by young earthers (with whom I do not tend to agree on overall conclusions, but they often do note little-considered natural phenomena) is that the sun changed by 1% in the last century. If that was constant (big if) that would be a huge change in what we tend to take as the general lifetime of the world.
“Francis the talking mule.”
He is a socialist and can’t be very bright at all.
Like you, I’m also tired of people apologizing for him saying it was all an error in the translation.
Forget about that... those are peccadillos compared to this folly.
Just call me Galileo.
I suspect there’s millions of Galileos today.
Why?... he seems to be pretty much bent on being a generic do-gooder and OMG THIS IS HUGE....
Yes, the theological thought seems to be pretty weak here. Biblical events don’t reflect a threat of this kind at all short of the apocalyptic judgments, and they are judgments for a reason. But even worse, the lack of diversity in scientific advice — he heard from a mutual admiration society. Did he even give more than the time of day to Monckton? I hope he did.
” “The Moral Dimensions of Climate Change and Sustainable Development”.”
Translation: “ We are going to rape capitalist countries.
” U.N. official: “ Climate Change is about destroying capitalism”
Follow the money. Where does Il Papa think his payoff will come from?
The pope obviously doesn’t believe Genesis 8:22. Come to think of it, as a casual observer, I’ve gotten the impression that there’s a lot of Scripture he doesn’t believe; or at least doesn’t put into shoe leather. JMHO.
