Baltimore mayor under fire over ‘destroy’ remarks, response to riots
Fox News ^ | 4/28/15 | Fox News

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was under intense pressure Tuesday morning to defend her response to the violence that has ripped apart her city following the funeral of Freddie Gray, a young black man who died after being in police custody -- particularly Rawling-Blake's remarks in which she suggested those who "wished to destroy" need their space.

With more than a dozen officers injured in clashes with rioters and looters, some -- including Maryland's governor -- are questioning whether Rawlings-Blake should have acted sooner and taken a tougher tone to prevent the demonstrations from getting out of control.

It depends on what the meaning of the word “destroy” is?

According to one of her flunkies, there was a statement within her statement entirely different from the actual words. And the public was just a little too stupid to understand that statement-within-a-statement. But, evidently, so were the rioters too stupid to understand what she meant. So the conclusion is that she made a stupid statement or the rioters were/are too stupid to understand her nuanced speech.

“Would have been nice if he did this, like, yesterday, everybody knew this was coming.”

He has a long way to go trying to get his credibility back. I think he knows he Effed up hanging back “waiting.” You do not wait to be asked to the party in these situations.

Your assuming that.. and if she meant that why backtrack?.... I know Rush is banging on this and I think is off base on this one

It is clear to me it is a statement that I can see ...could... be taken two ways... im going to be intellectually honest and acknowledge that possibility

RAY NAGIN, Off to the Slammer. Steffie needs to join him.

Nagin was convicted on 20 of the 21 counts by jury on February 12, 2014.These charges included that he had taken more than $500,000 in payouts from businessmen in exchange for millions of dollars’ worth of city contracts.

On July 9, 2014, Nagin was sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment, and more than $585,000 in restitution and forfeiture. On July 15, 2014, Nagin’s attorney filed an appeal with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

On Sept. 3, 2014, a judge deemed Nagin indigent and ordered the Federal Public Defender’s Office to take over his appeal. Nagin claimed to be near penniless and said he was receiving food stamps support. Nagin reported to the Federal Correctional Institution, Texarkana, a prison camp, on Sept. 8, 2014.

The mayor is supposed to request the NG, the Gov. is not to force it on a city. That said, the word is she wouldn’t take his calls but did manage to get some input from the white hut.

“The mayor is supposed to request the NG, the Gov. is not to force it on a city.”

Most likely true, but that assumes that the mayor would have been consulting with the governor from the get go. Failing that connection, I would think that the governor would have the responsibility for acting w/o her request.

Yet another over-her-head affirmative-action hire. What a fool. I hope the owners of businesses that got torched and destroyed sue the city for all it is worth. The taxpayers should impeach her tonight.
