If the Pope Wants to Have a Truly Moral Climate-Change Debate, Here Are a Few Ideas
National Review ^ | 4-27-15 | PATRICK J. MICHAELS

Kudos to Pope Francis for calling a conference, scheduled for tomorrow, emphasizing the moral dimensions of climate change. It’s about time we took a clear and sober look at an issue that can cause so much harm to so many, especially the poor and downtrodden.

The core problem for the conference is to balance the costs and benefits imposed by climate change against the costs and benefits of a major reduction in the use of fossil fuels, with the understanding that there are only two other sources of dense energy that can effectively replace them, nuclear power and large hydroelectric dams.

TOPICS: News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: climatechange; globalwarming; morality; poor
The author has several other good specific moral questions that should be asked, especially in regard to how reductions in energy output would adversely affect the poor.

The faux kudos to the Pope are nauseating.

The Vatican-sponsored conference is a left-wing, Commie operation from top to bottom.

The Pope is going to make a fool of himself by endorsing the climate-Communism fraud.

He has done little since his election except abuse his office to spout his personal, mostly stupid, opinions.

The next Pope should have NO conferences in Rome. They are nothing but occasions for the heretics to machinate.

Here's an idea....open the Vatican file on Gallileo.....and take a look at his sunspot findings.....

Hint the Sunspot count is declining.....another mini ice age coming up.

[[The core problem for the conference is to balance the costs and benefits imposed by climate change against the costs and benefits of a major reduction in the use of fossil fuels]]

NO it isn’t- the core problem is that LIARS and SCAM ARTISTS want to separate us from our money WITHOUT ever having to explain to the world how just 0.00137% of the atmosphere can possibly be causing climate change

The total amount of CO2 in our atmosphere is a PATHETIC 0.04%- of that pathetic 0.04% man is responsible for just 3.4%- this means that the total percentage of CO2 In the atmosphere due to man is an even more PATHEICLY SMALL amount of 0.00137%

STOP the friggin nonsense and explain to the world how just 0.00137% can possibly be trapping enough heat to raise the earth’s temperature! STOP saying we have a moral obligation to control the climate- we can NOT control climate- CO2 is NOT driving climate change- it can’t! There isn’t enough of it to do so!

There simply is NOT enough CO2 to trap ANYTHING of ANY significance- what little heat does get trapped by CO2 I nthe atmosphere gets radiated out in ALL directions, with an even PATHEITICLY SMALLR percent of that 0.00137% making it’s way back to earth-

Also- STOP the friggin nonsense and explain to everyone why it is that tempuratures rise FIRST and then 100’s to 1000’s of years later, CO2 rises? IF CO2 is driving temperature rises, then why doesn’t CO2 rise FIRST and not 1000’s of years later?

STOP the friggin nonsense and tell us why it was that we had the SAME ppm (parts per million) amount of CO2 I n atmosphere 1000’s of years ago when there was NO industrial age?

STOP the friggin nonsense and explain to everyone why, despite increasing CO2 production by man over the last 20 years, temperatures did NOT rise? IF CO2 drives temperatures up- then those years should have been continually warmer each year

The amount of heat that our atmosphere is capable of absorbing due to CO2 is so small that an analogy can be made of someone lighting one match in a football stadium, once a year- and for someone to claim that one match caused ‘catastrophic warming’ within that stadium is just nonsense- every bit as much nonsense as claiming 0.00137% of our atmosphere can absorb enough heat, and then back radiate it in enough quantitates to cause ‘catastrophic global warming’!

“Man-caused’ global warming is a LIE! And for the pope to sign onto this LIE is very troubling indeed!

Those facts won’t stop the fact that one day they will tax us for our C02 usage.

Another generation of publicly educated Americans will ensure less dissent, and more tyranny.

I am beginning to believe that the heart and soul of America just isn’t in it anymore, people don’t care to be free. What’s the point of being free when everything is provided to you? No hunting, no gathering, you don’t have to do a damned thing except go to the grocery store, go home and you’re connected to the world.

[[America just isn’t in it anymore, people don’t care to be free.]]

Precisely- This is how nations fall apart- the people don’t fight for their rights anymore- and socialism creeps in and the whole nation goes to pot-

This Pope has a long history—going back to Argentina—of surrounding himself with lefties, and exiling “conservatives.” “Conservative” priests were assigned to the farthest reaches of the archdiocese, far from Buenos Aires.

He likes to hear what he likes to hear.

He is not going to listen to the warnings from climate-Communism skeptics, because they are “conservatives.”

He is going to issue the already-written bed-wetting encyclical, and make a fool of himself. He will, of course, also embarrass the Church for the next 500 years or more.

>> the moral dimensions of climate change

Islam seems to be killing more Christians than “climate change.” What an idiot.

The only way to stop it is to get up now. Or soon, and stop it dead in its tracks. We all have the power. We have a duty to our constitution to exercise those powers, otherwise we have no right to them.
