Eric Holder’s legacy - Race was always at the core of his agenda
The Washington Times ^ | April 23, 2015 | J. Christian Adams

Alas, the Eric Holder era is over. But critics who think his departure means normalcy will return haven’t been paying attention. Mr. Holder was President Obama’s point man for fundamentally transforming the country, and he did his job well.

At the center of Mr. Holder’s transformative agenda was race. Race has always occupied Mr. Holder’s attention; he once said, “There’s a common cause that bonds the black United States attorney with the black criminal.”

In what could have been a presidency where race faded into America’s rear-view mirror, Mr. Holder turned race into the road map.

It all started in 2009 when I was at the Department of Justice. I witnessed a new way of looking at the law. To Mr. Holder and his newly empowered progressive lawyers, the law was a mere suggestion, not a constraining force.

When the Justice Department dismissed my voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party, it was the first inkling this was no ordinary attorney general. Worse yet, after the dismissal, Mr. Holder presided in meetings of Civil Rights Division managers cooking up plans to oust managers who dared to enforce civil rights laws against black defendants.

But the New Black Panther mess was just the beginning.

The Justice Department Civil Rights Division — something Mr. Holder explicitly said would be the focus of his tenure — became an engine of fundamental transformation. It became the taxpayer-fueled command center for the progressive left.

Radical policies, laughable just a decade ago, began to appear in the form of a federal fist.

Without his industrial strength race card, Holder wouldn’t have lasted a week as Barry’s AG of Racism.

Good riddance, but just consider the trend of the left-towards ever-increasing loss of freedom for law-abiding, tax-paying citizens. Every change they make will be to our detriment. If you thought a racist black man was bad, just wait until you see what a racist black woman can do.

We live in historically interesting times!

After Holder, the AGUS will just naturally have to be "Black."

After the appropriately named Lynch, The ADUS must be a woman.

As night follows day, modern logic dictates that from now on, The AGUS will ALWAYS be a "Black" Woman.
That isn't all bad news, as it may rule out Hillary. Don't laugh. 20 months to go and one of the SCOTUS Geezers could easily leave the planet before I do and Buckwheat may offer her the gig to pave the way for his favorite, Injun Gal Warren!

I’d have to say it was Mitch McConnell and the limp-wrist RINOs that replaced Holder with Lynch.

Senate-confirmed Holder would probably never have become AG if the 17th Amendment had never been ratified.

The major constitutional problem with Holder’s vote-winning race politics is that the only race-based issue that states have ever amended the Constitution to expressly protect is voting rights as evidenced by the 15th Amendment. But this didn’t stop lawless Holder from using the race card to win votes for Democrats from low-information voters who have probably never been taught the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers.

Also bear in mind that the lawless Senate not only works in cahoots with the corrupt House to pass unconstitutional bills, bills which essentially steal 10th Amendment-protected state powers, but the Senate also confirms justices who then decide that Congress’s unconstitutional laws are “constitutional.”

What a racket!

The corrupt Oval Office is not the most unconstitutionally politically powerful office in the land imo. The corrupt Senate is.

"In every event, I would rather construe so narrowly as to oblige the nation to amend, and thus declare what powers they would agree to yield, than too broadly, and indeed, so broadly as to enable the executive and the Senate [emphasis added] to do things which the Constitution forbids." --Thomas Jefferson: The Anas, 1793.

The 17th Amendment needs to disappear.

They aren’t at all limp-wristed. They are cold, calculating whores who have been bought & paid for.

I can understand and approve to some extent Holder coming in and trying to balance the scales and clean up injustices which were racially disproportionate.

However, he was so heavy handed and openly biased that he created much racial animus and dissension from crime victims, many whites, etc. who thought we were supposed to have “equal protection of the laws”

Holder rejected the teachings of Martin Luther King Jr.
(content of character rather than color of skin)

An unintended consequence of Holder being a vicious racist is it drew lines - - and exposed hatreds hidden FROM whites.

Those hatreds were hidden from Asians, Jews, and members of all other races too.

Now it's all on the table.

In short, Holder destroyed white guilt. Members of saner - - more ethical races - - don't have to see themselves as 'people of color'. Because 'color' was NEVER the issue. In the long run judging based on character will help the situation for all races... including blacks.
