I was there last October. There were not many gators about. Most were hiding up from the heat. Many people, rangers and tour boat operators, said you had to wait until cooler weather before they came out in large numbers. Saw some but not enough.
In fact the wife and I saw very few wild gators driving all over Florida from top to bottom including into the Keys. Drat the luck.
