What’s the point of showing up to vote if you vote makes not one bit of difference in any given outcome?
I think a lot of voters, including me, have been asking themselves this question recently, and I imagine Ted has too.
If I was a member of a group, the senate, whose sole purpose seems to be destroying my country, I don’t think I want to do anything with them either.

I would have no way of knowing, but I think that was his reason- he did not want to be a part of the charade.
You show up to vote so that the people who voted for you know where you stand. You show up to vote because that is your job ... the one you were elected to do.
I show up to vote because that’s my job as a citizen ... to vote for the person or initiative I believe in. I may not have had a presidential candidate I believed in ... but I did have down ticket candidates I believed in .. and I voted for them.
I am not at the point where I’m going to stay home and admit defeat. It’s disheartening that here in WA state we have little say in the candidates who get the nomination for POTUS ... but I still due my duty ... my job and get my vote turned in.
If Ted Cruz or any other politician doesn’t like the group he finds himself in ... then find a way to change it or resign and let someone else get in there and do something. Ted’s from Texas ... there must be other Republicans/Conservatives who actually want to be in the Senate?
Don’t get me wrong... I totally get the frustration with the current crop of jack rabbits running the Congress. I’m not a fan of how things are going. I just don’t personally believe giving up is a great option.
