It seems our politicians have been on a mission to take away citizen freedoms with ever more security and surveillance against Americans (not illegals), when their mission should be maintaining our Constitutional rights and freedoms.
Seriously, though, even if a photographer’s vest is considered “tactical gear”, so what? It’s not illegal to wear tactical gear in public.
At least the Commies were open enough to put ‘no camera’ signs on buildings you weren’t supposed to photograph. They didn’t use secret lists.
What the heck is tactical gear? Does that mean a bullet-proof vest? I have tactical boots. They’re not bullet proof. Do I have to take them off in Virginia?
I am so sick of citizens having to keep their hands up when some cop decides someone might get hurt. I’d like to see the cops keep their hands up and away from their weapons.

GEEZE - I’m an ole great-gramma - semi retired photog/writer.
I often wear my photographers vest , even if not intent on doing a story - as I like the freedom all those pockets give me - no need to carry a purse or tote.
When police don’t know the difference between a photographers - or fisherman’s? ) vest from a tactical vest - not that a tactical vest is illegal? - the ‘dumb down’ is complete.
