Well, Republicans running for office do have a history of telling us what we want to hear and flipping right back to their old script in the general election, or once they get into office. So color me skeptical of anyone who has a last minute “come to Jesus” moment right as they decide to run for President.

We have all been burned by that repeatedly, so I understand the sentiment. However, except for one Freeper that I know of, those of us here who lived and/or worked in Wisconsin during this period defend this man who OVER delivered on his promises. It would have been the easiest thing for him to go Tommy Thompson, avoid the run-off nonsense, and get re-elected after an unexciting four years where he gave the unions two-thirds of what they wanted. He did not. THAT is why we trust him to deliver on his promises.
