Which is why I wouldn't tell her to act the way King acted, because he (like most people, including me) acted hypocritically in relation to his beliefs and his speech. The difference is that King would never have suggested that the only way to end racism was to kill and rape white people, because, as King's mentor Gandhi put it, an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

Thank you for posting that. I'm so tired of MLK being quoted so fawningly, even on conservative sites, and praised like he was some kind of a saint. The truth about him is out there. It's not hard to find.
