For everyone complaining about ads and scripts at washingtontimes.com, here's what a 2007 Windows Vista box shows when equipped with a hosts file that blocks all ads and the like. My page loads fast and ad/scripts free.

I couldn’t pull up the article on the Washington Times site at all. It kept going to a large pic of Cruz with no way to get out of that pic and onto the article.
Gave up.
