Spotted Cow is a cream ale, not a farmhouse ale. And while quite drinkable, it is my least favorite of New Glarus’s beers (two thumbs up for Fat Squirrel, even if the brewery is owned by a couple of lefties).

That said, I should have taken a case of Spotted Cow along last weekend during my trip to Nashville for the NRA convention, and tried trading it for a case of Zombie Dust when passing through Indiana.

The case you are referring to is one where a farmer was charged with raising too much grain per acre. His argument was he wasn’t selling it, he was just raising to feed his livestock. The government said it still impacted interstate commerce because by raising grain, he wasn’t buying grain. The government won, of course.

Back in ‘75, I worked a gun show in Pittsburg KS and brought 2 cases of Coors back to NW OH. It was odd that Pittsburg was a dry county, in that you could only get beer at bars, if you wanted the hard stuff you had to bring a fifth in, they’d put your name on it, mix you a drink and charge you a buck-fifty! That was at the Holiday Inn lounge there. I stuck with the unobtanium of beers—but now, Coors sucks, just like everything else that’s changed. Ptui upon them all.

Ah, Schlitz, a pretty good beer at one time. By the late 60s the longtime brewmaster had retired and it slowly went down hill as management took various shortcuts to reduce costs. By the mid-70s it was just more American horse swill.

Ah, the 70s. Back when you could get Olympia beer and make jokes about Artesians.

Coors didn’t want its beer distributed to distant regions where it couldn’t guarantee the beer was kept cold and “fresh.”

I thought it was because Coors wasn’t pasteurized back then... and thus HAD to be refrigerated.

“When I was a teenager, my father drank Schlitz beer.”

Same with my father. He was a trade union man back in the ‘70s. Schlitz was “union” beer. Wouldn’t have “that rat beer” Coors in the house.

It’s worth the 1 hour round trip once in a while to enjoy some real good beer.

Oh, no! The horrors!!!! All this while real crimes are being committed. Include this with all the other ridiculously stupid outdated laws that should have been wiped off the books decades ago.

They’re not following the New Glarus motto: of drinking “indigenous”

It was interesting because Paul Newman (a celebrity liberal) was so closely associated with the brand.

In Newman's defense, he created a way to feed charities with his own brands of food items, the profits donated. Most liberals want to feed charities from your pocket by theft instead of by providing something of value.

I agree, he was one of the more honest libs around. Very much an outlier.

.
Newman created a way to fund abortion, and the gay agenda through his brands.

If you buy them, you fund that crap too.

Let’s be honest.
Unless you’re Amish, or only buy from Hobby Lobby, Chik-Fil-A, and In-N-Out Burger, you’re gonna be funding somebody’s agenda.

Poems are made by fools I fear, only Schlitz can make a beer...

I think I remember the rest of that classic poem from MAD magazine; here goes:

I think that I shall never hear
A poem lovlier than beer,
The brew that Joe's Bar has on tap
with golden base and snowy cap,
The foamy stuff I drink all day
until my mem'ry melts away...
Poems are made by fools I fear,
but only Schlitz can make a beer.

Coors Banquet is the worlds most praised, and lauded beer, having won almost every blind tasting that has ever been held.

One of the few real, naturally croisened beers available.
