Face it. The Jesuit order in the US has devolved into an unspeakable cabal. Its one thing to “accept people as they are”, it is entirely another thing to molest young boys while posing as Catholic priests. The behavior is vile and Catholic parents are deluded if they send their children to Jesuit schools and expect them to receive a “Catholic” education.

We don’t see ourselves as a gay community, but rather as a community that’s open to gays

Yeah.

We don't see ourselves as a murderer community, but rather as a community that's open to murderers.

We don't see ourselves as a thief community, but rather as a community that's open to thieves.

We don' see ourselves as a blasphemer community, but rather as a community that's open to blasphemers.

Horsecrap.

The Church should be open to all sinners, and CALL ON THEM TO REPENT.

This foul anti-christ wants them to wallow in their sins.

So many sub-Catholic denominations under one umbrella, their own belief emphasis, variations of official teaching, costumes, etc. that it’s hard to keep up.

Also hard to keep up with the criticisms from one sub-Catholic denomination of another.

That doesn’t even begin to touch on the differences between whether you hold the communion wafer in your hand or have it placed in your mouth, whether you listen to someone speak in a language you do not understand (latin), or hear the service in english or spanish or whatever, whether you use an older version of the service or a new one, whether you have classes of attendees or none, and on and on...

But, I guess the good part is that this is all happening under one leader (who isn’t followed, but is criticized to no end), one name (but the meaning is quite diluted depending on who you speak with) and one official teaching (though the majority - seemingly - pick and choose).

people feel OK to be who they are

What if they're rapists? Child molesters? Murderers? Thieves? Democrats?

Maybe some people SHOULDN'T feel ok to be who they are. Maybe they should strive to become something better.

Serious question from a non-Catholic. IF a homosexual is gay BUT adheres to the conditions of the priesthood, is that OK? Not trolling here.

here’s the truth I know and believe: I am created in God’s image and likeness, just as God creates us all. It is actually that simple. But sometimes we take that image and likeness........

Yes, man had been made in the image and likeness of God,,,,,knowing good from evil. Now we have a person who has taken the perverse attributes of homosexuality and transferred them to explain God. Yet we have the selective exclusion of the story of Sodom and Gomorah. The author selectively excludes Romans 1:20 (and following) to make a flimsy excuse of his case. He might just as well have said, Man are sinners and deserve hell and that is exactly where God deserves to spend eternity. I shutter at the indiscriminate perversion of the scripture to excuse ones offenses against a Holy God. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands. God is angry with the wicked every day. Your and I will deal with His terms, not ours.

It’s an acceptance and a realization that people feel OK to be who they are that makes this place different.”

So if their difference is pedophilia? serial rapist? chronic herion user? racists?
I do not accept people that feel okay being a child abuser. Rapist. Etc Etc........
You can accept a person as a human being without accepting their crimes or their sins........
