Nigel Farage has been accused of "insulting" the audience of the final election debate by saying they had failed to understand the issues and were too left wing. During heated debate over the shortage of affordable housing in the UK, the UKIP leader said that "even by the standards of the BBC", the audience was too far left. He said: "There is a total lack of comprehension amongst this panel and the audience, which is a remarkable audience even by the left-wing standards of the BBC." The UKIP leader was jeered as he was told by Ed Miliband that it was not a good idea to "insult the audience", who had been selected by an independent polling firm. Mr Farage responded: "The real audience is sitting at home."

UKIP by the polls appear to be struggling a bit.
They got a donation of £1 Million yesterday from a newspaper owner. Pittance to a US campaign, but a sizable donation for a UK election fight. Hopefully it will give them a bounce.
If you ask them, the answer is that the “rich” will pay more taxes to pay for it. Let the whole world in and feed and house them and let the “rich” pay for it all. That mentality is why the entire West is swirling down the toilet.
This is a model of how the Republican candidate should handle himself in the 2016 presidential debates.
When you tell the truth to a liberal, they take it as an insult every time.
Lord, thank you for good men like Nigel in these evil times. strengthen him. help him to continue to confound and thwart the evil plans of the enemy. and please send him here to the US whenever possible. Amen.
Amen
It was ghastly, even by BBC standards.
Nigel doesn’t need them, he should go directly to the people and F the Beeb.
That’s a very accurate description of the farce.
The debates have been spread around the major UK channels, and have been fair so far. The BBC one was always going to be the most biased.
Nigel Farage great guy that he is and I just love him cannot save the UK from itself. They are toast. France is toast and so is most of Europe. We can only look at them and hope to save ourselves.
I've had a difficult time knowing where to look for unbiased news sources from the UK. Or, since that's really an impossibility everywhere, a balanced variety of dependable sources. The kulturkrieg battleground there, and on the continent (as always), has enormous ramifications for the future here. The U.S. has rarely been more than a generation behind in encountering the same pressures, the same social engineering, the same self-appointed and faceless, unaccountable bureaucrat curia.
Many of us would prefer to learn occasionally from success rather than failure.
One usually has to proceed "shield up" when diving into a Guardian article, for example - just has one has had to keep eyes open from Manchester for at least 100 years. But never have those cautions needed to be more generally known, obviously, and our own press here has deteriorated to a mere shell of pretense, run by a few hundred PR firms.
Does anyone recommend a short list of UK news sources that are available online, even those of some depth would be welcome?
He played his role. He wasn’t there to win.
Plaid: We believe in Socialism. English people should pay into Welsh NHS, because we don't have enough £ to pay for all the things we want. We think homes should be owned by Welsh Councils but paid for by the English. Homes should not be assets of the people because that's not fair. UKIP is party of hate. We don't believe in hate unless it's the Tories whom we hate.
SNP: We don't want to be part of UK but we think EU is a great idea. It's time the English pay reparations to us for ending socialism under Margaret Thatcher. We denounce all forms of hatred unless it's for the Tories or UKIP. We would like to marry Labour as long as we wear the pants, make all the decisions and they make the English pay the bill.
Green: It's not easy being Green in the UK, especially if one was born in Australia. However, if the English pay the bill, it would be a good life. We denounce the hatred of UKIP. We can't emphasize how much we hate them and the Tories, especially Thatcher. We spit on her grave.
Labour: We are working real hard to regain your confidence. To that end, I have taken coaching lessons from Obama's election team. Hopefully it will go better for us than it did for Israeli Opposition. We agree with the others that hatred has no part in UK and we pledge our hatred for the hateful UKIP and Tories.
UKIP: Are you people serious?
There are (contrary to US myth) a wide range of media in the UK which reflects the various political and social ideas and stances of the UK public.
So whilst the Guardian, Independent, the BBC, some tabloid newspapers are left wing, others like the Daily Mail, Times, Telegraph and Observer are of the right. Other media esp TV and radio keep a central line.
Thanks.
