America's leading gun maker is raising its targets.
Smith & Wesson (SWHC) shares soared 13% Wednesday as the company announced that firearm orders are picking up again. Sales in recent weeks have been better than expected.
The company now forecasts sales of between $175 million to $179 million for the quarter. That's up 8% from its projection just six weeks ago and will help boost the company's earnings as well.

I think they’re just getting better armed. Gun control/confiscation is dead in the water. For now.
There have been quite a few propaganda attempts in the last few months to push supplies down and prices up, but those attempts have been unsuccessful. It’s possible that many are beginning to realize that the greatest danger to them is the danger of layoffs and even government default.
Must be campaign season again.
I was going to get the S & W M& P Shield but found the slide was very hard to pull back and release. The sales manager checked on this and he agreed with me. I opted for another handgun, the slide was much better to pull and release.
Tax returns are being mailed out and spent.
There is a reason why there are many different guns.
I love my Shield, but there are plenty of other great guns that fit people other than me.
I will say that the slide release lever on the Shield is pretty much useless, but I can deal with that — I don’t need it.
