Some of our astute British cousins claim that the National Health Service "ate" the Royal Navy. (The costs were way high, and the money had to come from somewhere.)

It looks like the RAF is next on the menu.

(Sadly, quite sadly so.)

You took my post, darn you! Tis true, what you say.

The National Health Service ate the Navy, and will soon swallow up the army and air force.

The grotesque big baby and robot nurses put on display at the British Olympics will destroy the nation that once ruled the waves.

Hmmm.

We had the world’s largest navy until 1952, and had a huge navy right through the 50’s to 70’s. I am not sure I agree with the claim.
