SpaceX will make a second attempt to launch its seventh Dragon resupply mission to the International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday, with the cargo craft lifting off from Cape Canaveral’s SLC-40 atop a Falcon 9 rocket, following a weather scrub on Monday. Bound for a five-week visit to the ISS, the CRS-6 Dragon will depart the Cape at 16:10 local time (20:10 UTC).
Years ago I was on a business trip to Florida. The group I was visiting broke for lunch and we left the office building to go to the cafeteria. As I looked up at the thunderclouds overhead, I thought that if I saw something like that back in Ohio, I'd be heading for a tornado shelter. However, the people I was with didn't seem to pay any attention. They were nonchalantly heading for lunch. I guess it's what you're used to.

The presence of Cumulonimbus clouds (thunderstorm clouds) are not indicators of tornado activity in all regions. Tornadoes are prevalent in the Midwest and Mideast regions of the United States because of the way in which the colder Humid Continental air mass of the northern regions interact along its line o contact with the warmer Humid Subtropical air mass in the southern regions of the United States. The Jet Stream aloft along these air mass boundary lines provide much of the energy needed to initiate and sustain the spin necessary to generate tornadoes in areas of instability such as the Cumulonimbus clouds of the thunderstorms. Elsewhere you can have the Cumulonimbus clouds and associated thunderstorms but lack sufficient energy in the temperature differentials and instabilities necessary to spin up a tornado and feed it the quantities of energy necessary to build or sustain itself. So, look for tornadoes along the boundaries of the major air masses of the planet and where the Jet Streams of the Stratosphere can feed energy to the formation of tornadoes.
They cancel when one gets within the 10 mile launch radius. I know, seems a little cautious but better safe than sorry I guess.
