They are the silent majority and scared of the Islamists. They should take out the Islamist leaders.. That might be what al-Sisi is doing in Egypt.
Al-Sisi is posturing - he just took out the radicals to gain power - a “reformation” is just his way of differentiating his policies from the MB’s.
Al-Sisi knows that any actual attempt at reformation is to go against Mohammad’s commands and would be met with death to those attempting to reform the unreformable Islam - which, by the way, was already reformed by Mohammad back in the day.
It is just a play to either sell books: Hirsi, or shore up a political base: Al-Sisi. Only uninformed or ignorant westerners would believe in reformation just as they once believed in the tooth fairy.

True, General Al Sisi has spoken but seems to be a lone voice in Islam. I fear his days are marked. Further, he needs help. One voice out of 900 million is a pretty sad proportion and just isn’t going to cut it.
