The Rev. Al has been invited by the family of police shooting victim Walter Scott to preach in South Carolina.

The civil rights activist said he has been in touch with Scott’s brothers and will be giving a sermon Sunday at a Charleston church.

“Yup, I’m going,” Sharpton told The Daily News on Friday. “I talked to Anthony, who asked me to come. He said I was welcome.”

Sharpton confirmed the invite after The News reported Friday that the Scott family did not want Sharpton at the funeral on Saturday.

“We don’t want another Ferguson type of circus here,” a source close to the family was quoted as saying in The News article.

The subject of Sharpton’s sermon at the Charity Missionary Baptist Church will be that people have a right to pursue justice “in a peaceful, legal way.”

An earlier article said the Scott family didn't want Sharpton to come down at all.

I think the good "Rev" may have offered a sizeable "contribution" to the family's "grief relief fund" to change their mind.
