“Instead, it looks like every deputy on duty in the surrounding 50 miles got to go after this guy. In the meantime, no one else who may have needed a cop could find one.”
I’m not naive enough to believe there are not some evil dudes that they must deal with, but I’m also skeptical enough that I don’t like the trend and can see this power trip and mindset migrating to relatively crime free areas.
Any LE involved in over use of force needs to have it recorded permanently on a national DOJ/FBI record (not just the local PD) so that it follows them. We need to set a bias for restraint, if only for the benefit of maintaining public PD respect. More and more law abiding Americans that I know of all political opinions are getting their fill, and are now concerned it is coming to them or families.
It's been going on for years.
The difference today, is there are cameras everywhere.
Just a hunch.
Listen to the news chopper female speak at the very beginning of the video. They had just then arrived on scene and started their video.
Those on the ground had their Sheriff's chopper low and loud, orbiting right over the top of them. Those on the ground likely had no idea a news chopper with a big camera lens had just arrived, far above the the Sheriff chopper. Rural, in the high desert hills.
I'm very confident they'd never do what they did in front of a news team or cameras.
You are right, but as I watch more and more of these videos, I am starting to think that they don’t care about being caught on film, nearly as much as we think they do or should.
There is a growing unease in me, that if we don’t get law enforcement under our control in this country, that as the years and decades go by, that they will become less and less concerned about what we catch them at.
If that were true you'd expect a huge transformation in attitude post Rodney King. Didn't happen, it's gotten worse.
It’s like the demons are loose. People are acting so primitive and strange.
The videos will keep coming and will get worse due to ever increasing wide spread use of video etc.
What we’re seeing is all a part of government. It’s going to affect the attitudes of millions of potential jurors and tax payers who are all seeing this too. This only leads to ever increasing widespread distrust. You can see and hear that distrust all over the Net and just about everywhere else nowadays. It’s hard to miss.
Excellent point. But in this case, I don’t think they had any idea the news chopper just arrived. As the copper news babe announced to the station just seconds before beat down. When the big lens zoomed in, even the female on chopper’s audio to the station goes silent and seem to lack a commentary. Or was turned off or was just edited out.
Last thing she said was, “Suspect just tased” then total silence when the assault began.
“today it has to be like brown on rice”
Now are you saying thats it’s “ethnic,” healthy eating, or racist?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Kind of a sardonic combination of all that...
