Obama Is NoNeville Chamberlain
American Thinker ^ | April 6, 2015 | Jeff Lipkes

Posted on 04/08/2015 6:56:43 PM PDT by Iron Munro

"Let’s retire Neville Chamberlain’s umbrella. It’s become a pretty threadbare symbol over the years."

"Like Andreas Lubitz, the president knows what he’s doing. He does not believe that the Iranians, the world’s third greatest oil exporters, are interested in generating nuclear energy. He does not believe that the mullahs will fail to cheat on any agreement, or fail to use the revenue flowing in with the lifting of sanctions to fund global terrorism. He does not believe that there will be much will to reimpose sanctions on the part of countries profiting from trade with Iran."

It is time for serious people to stop pretending that Obama is just some well meaning but misguided goofball who cannot see the damage and harm that his policies are causing.

He knows very well what he is doing and it is intentional.

The sooner Americans and free people around the world acknowledge the fact that Obama means to create a New Islamic World Order the more likely there will still be something of the Free World left to salvage when he is gone from the stage.

The Establishment Republicans are comatose, or worse. Obama has enough time to do untold damage if there is no opposition party.

EVERYTHING obama does either:
a) Weakens America/Americans
b) Distances America's allies
c) Strengthens America's enemies
d) Serves Islam
e) Harms Israel
Or some combination of the above.
There are NO counter examples.

Amen to what everyone has said on this thread - but don't forget Judas Iscariot!

England is fortunate to have had Chamberlain instead of Obama.

Some critics of Neville Chamberlain ignore the fact that it was he who gave Hitler the ultimatum September 3rd 1939. Hitler was to give the order to withdraw German troops from Poland, within about 24 hours. Few people critical of Chamberlain will ever concede what that declaration of war meant. Few men in history have ever had to make such a terrible choice.

I remember the war from start to finish.

Neville thought he was doing something good by trusting a mass muderer from Germany. Zippy knows he’s destroying our country from within.

If I remember correctly, Chamberlain admitted his mistake to the British people. Also, I believe Churchill kept him on as an advisor until he passed away.

One sympathetic view of Chamberlin I read was that he was buying time for the British to build up for war. What do you think?

I note your comment and it is noted that the British aircraft industry went into overtime production in the interim. About 13 months to bring in the all metal fighter planes which were crucial against the all metal Luftwaffe fighters. I read they had a 1000 Spitfires/ Hurricanes ready to go. Molders, the foremost German air ace, had a field day against the vulnerable French, Polish, Dutch airmen. He had over a 100 kills. They were made of non-metal construction WW1 type vintage.

Somebody did their homework. It is true that Winston Churchill by then, was urging these intense preparations. Alas, Chamberlain became a symbol for appeasement. Right or wrong one can take one's choice.

Perhaps my source (Gerhard Weinberg of UNC) is the same as yours, but Chamberlain could not have gone to war in 1938 even if he wanted to.

First off, he was left in bad shape defense-wise by his predecessor, Stanley Baldwin, who refused to have Britain re-arm in any way. It is Baldwin who, IMO, deserves the scorn that is routinely thrown at Chamberlain.

Then, around Munich, Chamberlain was warned by his Air Marshal, “Stuffy” Dowding, that the RAF lacked sufficient aircraft for a war with Germany; the “dominions” (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa), without whose assistance Britain could not fight Germany, warned Chamberlain that they would not go to war with Germany over the Sudetenland, which, after all, was the ostensible crisis behind the Munich summits. (Awarding the Sudetenland to the newly-formed Czechoslovakia after WW I was also considered one of Woodrow Wilson’s not-very-bright ideas).

Mark Steyn on Neville Chamberlain:

By the way, I'm growing rather weary of the cheap comparisons of Obama with Neville Chamberlain. The British Prime Minister got the biggest issue of the day wrong. But no one ever doubted that he loved his country. That's why, after his eviction from Downing Street, Churchill kept him on in his ministry as Lord President of the Council, and indeed made Chamberlain part of the five-man war cabinet and had him chair it during his frequent absences. When he died of cancer in October 1940, Churchill wept over his coffin.

The problem with Obama is that he’s off the scale in his destruction. He is one of the most maliciously, hatefully evil people in history, and there is no yardstick against which to compare him. Obama falls short of the Antichrist, since that danger will be more intelligent and more energetic, but he’s morally on the same level. No living person with Obama’s toxic values has led the most powerful country in the world in all of our history.
