JEB BUSH: I WOULD GOVERN LIKE LYNDON JOHNSON AS PRESIDENT
Breitbart ^ | 15 Feb 2013 | Tony Lee

Posted on 04/08/2015 10:09:49 AM PDT by Lazamataz

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said he would strive to be like Lyndon Johnson, the Democrat famous for expanding the U.S. welfare state through the “Great Society,” if he were elected president. According to the Miami Herald, Bush made those comments Wednesday night in San Antonio, Florida at Saint Leo University, while speaking about education, immigration, and energy policy.

Bush did not address Johnson’s Great Society and War on Poverty programs, about which Ronald Reagan once famously quipped, “We had a war on poverty, and poverty won.”

Instead, he was referencing Johnson’s mastery of the so-called sausage-making process in Congress.

He vowed to approach the presidency as “master of the Senate,” as biographer Robert Caro described Johnson.

It’s becoming clear why Barbara Bush originally came out and said there’s been enough Bush’s in the WH, she knows Jeb better than anyone.

If Jeb ran on the Dem ticket, he’d stand a better chance of getting the nomination.

He forgot to tack right for the primaries and then back left for the general. Hopefully this is going to end badly for him and well for conservatives.

Is he courting liberal hippies who long for the days of flower power, free love, tune in, turn on, drop out? If so I just wish he’d get to the part “I will not seek, nor will I accept the nomination by my party as your president.”

As I have sai, voting for nominee Jeb in a matchưp with Mrs. Bill or any Democrat at all is voting for a Democrat who will do to us what any Democrat would do. Bush is deviating hard left from even the leftward orientation of his family.

He is not “clueless.” He is running to prevent a Conservative winning the presidency, that and nothing more. He likely does not truly desire to be President but he sure as hell doesn’t want a Conservative to be elected.

He IS running as a Dem, a Dem from the wholly owned subsidiary called the Republican Party. It is more and more a simple division of the Party sort of like Chevrolet is to Government Motors.

LBJ used to fly over my house in a flight of 3 Army helicopters on his way to his little ranchette in Johnson City.

The man is utterly despised in Texas outside Austin. It’s almost like the man never lived here as no one EVER talks about him.

I thought what I was reading was a joke that Jebbie said this! Unbelievably stupid!

Remember this story, where McConnell ALSO said he’d like to govern like a democrat. Seems to be a common theme with these moderate republicans!
