Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said he would strive to be like Lyndon Johnson, the Democrat famous for expanding the U.S. welfare state through the “Great Society,” if he were elected president. According to the Miami Herald, Bush made those comments Wednesday night in San Antonio, Florida at Saint Leo University, while speaking about education, immigration, and energy policy.
Bush did not address Johnson’s Great Society and War on Poverty programs, about which Ronald Reagan once famously quipped, “We had a war on poverty, and poverty won.”
Instead, he was referencing Johnson’s mastery of the so-called sausage-making process in Congress.
He vowed to approach the presidency as “master of the Senate,” as biographer Robert Caro described Johnson.

That he thinks he can get elected with supporting Common Core, his weakness on immigration, checking off ‘hispanic’ in the race box (no, I’m not giving him a break & calling it a ‘mistake’) and now saying he’ll govern like LBJ, tells me the man is either delusional, power hungry, thinks he’s entitled to the job because his name is Bush, or maybe all of the above. I find it rather sickening.

I know that this is a little below the belt but would that mean Jeb will grab dogs by the ears or conduct meetings with advisors and other underlings while he is on the throne?

I honestly cant think of a worse thing Bush could have said.
I was in high school when LBJ became Prez. He steamrolled the nation into his “Great Society”, micromanaged our war effort in Vietnam, stood by as the cities exploded in race riots, changed our coinage from silver to alloy, then bailed out in 1968, from whence he lived only another four years.
