North Dakota’s Republican governor sent a memo to 17 government departments on Monday saying discrimination against anyone is unacceptable, just two hours before every Democrat in the Legislature delivered a letter calling on him to go further and issue an executive order prohibiting bias against gays and lesbians.

Gov. Jack Dalrymple’s chief of staff sent the letter to all agency directors appointed by the governor.

“This administration expects all cabinet agencies to hire employees and to maintain agency staff based on ability and performance,” Chief of Staff Ron Rauschenberger wrote. “Ours remains a policy of non-discrimination, including no discrimination based on sexual orientation.”

All 38 Democrats from the House and Senate delivered a letter to Dalrymple later in the day asking him to issue an executive order to require state agencies to ban discrimination in hiring and employment based on sexual orientation. Democrats are the minority in the Legislature, where Republicans hold two-thirds majorities. …

When I was a kid, Leftist stood up for the rights of NAZIs claiming that they were all about standing up for a person’s rights, no matter what they had to say. Now they are attacking Christians for wanting to exercise their religion. Turns out the Left is just a bunch of NAZI homosexuals out to protect themselves.

Joe Biden to Authoritarian Chinese President: U.S. Only Supports Human Rights As ‘Political (Free Beacon ^ | 4/2/15 | Daniel Wiser)

Vice President Joe Biden once told Chinese President Xi Jinping that U.S. leaders only support human rights as a matter of political optics, and that this makes the United States no better than China, according to a new New Yorker profile of Jinping.

The New Yorker relates encounters between Biden and Jinping in 2011 and 2012, when both were vice presidents of their respective nations:

Biden told me that Xi asked him why the U.S. put “so much emphasis on human rights.” Biden replied to Xi, “No President of the United States could represent the United States were he not committed to human rights,” and went on, “If you don’t understand this, you can’t deal with us. President Barack Obama would not be able to stay in power if he did not speak of it. So look at it as a political imperative. It doesn’t make us better or worse. It’s who we are. You make your decisions. We’ll make ours.”

Did you read the article? This has to do with state hiring practices, not with private business decisions or gay marriage.

The actual definition of discrimination against GaysHomosexuals is:

"Any time a homosexual or other 'non-standard sexed'individual expresses that he/she/it feels they have been discriminated against, the ones they accuse are guilty and must be severely punished."

I agree. There’s a huge distinction between private people choosing with whom to do business and the government itself having a policy of discrimination.

One is (or ought to be) perfectly acceptable, but the other can never be tolerated.
