A new film released in Germany this month highlights one of the great "what ifs" of history. It's the story of Georg Elser - a 36-year-old carpenter from a small town in southern Germany - who came very close to assassinating Adolf Hitler in the early days of World War Two.

“God used the evil nation of Babylon to destroy Israel once....”
People think I’m nuts too when I bring up the notion that Hitler might have been used as punishment and correction to the Jews. The Jews had been dispersed, and had become very secular by the time of WWII.
And just as in the punishment by Babylon, afterwards the Jewish nation was restored (for a time).
It is hard to wrap my mind around it, but if God could use the terrible destruction caused by Babylon - why couldn’t He use someone as terrible as Hitler? With the ultimate goal of bringing the Jews closer to God.
And mind you - it isn’t just the Jews. I shudder to think what God has in store for Christians to force us/me to reexamine our faith and turn to God. Like in China, where Christian persecution caused a huge INCREASE in their faith (and numbers) over the last 50+ years).
“The man who missed killing Hitler by 13 minutes”
I thought this thread was going to be about Jeb Bush!
My thoughts too. We got a psuedo-Dr. Who Jebbie "what if" thread going if you want to join. The Jeb in 1066 discussions are already underway.
Something is about to happen. This all can’t continue.
