The amount of waste during school lunches could feed China!
That is the absolute truth. It is criminal the amount of food that ends up in the dumpsters in the back of the school buildings.
Now, I here on the radio that one-in-five children in this country doesn't get enough to eat. Then, when I drive past a school and look at all the overweight kids leaving the building I wonder who hasn't had enough to eat.
When I was in school over 65 years ago there were skinny kids. In fact most of us were skinny. Not because we didn't have enough to eat, but because we were on the move doing something all of the time.
For many of us, I must admit, the food wasn't gourmet, but it kept meat on the bones. Simple fare.
