Will the military accept “marriages” that aren’t legal? Of course not, for instance they will accept common law marriage, but only if it is a legal marriage. If the marriage is legal, then it is, if isn’t, then it isn’t.

So you think the military will not accept a Christian Church wedding without a State marriage license as legal. They will not treat the married couple as husband and wife. They will deny them the legitimacy of their Christian church marriage.

That isn’t what I said, I said, I said the marriage must be legal, or else it isn’t legal, regardless of what religion, or non-religion you are.

The military requires proof of your being legally married before they start sending you the money and benefits for being married, for instance the military issued identification required for your wife to come on base and to go to the military hospital and to enroll your kids into on-base schooling.

That seems shocking to you?
