Listen, I know Mormons are offered a verbal "sustaining" of some of its leaders (I'm pretty sure that does not include visiting home teachers).
You have to understand that even the verbal call to "sustain" a Mormon leader is essentially a verbal "rubber stamp."
If somebody disagrees with a given person, they are silent. (It's not like a "yes" and "no" vote -- and NOBODY...absolutely NOBODY...ever gets "rejected" by such a verbal call to "sustain" a given leader...It's essentially assumed that "the brethren" know what they're doing & they wouldn't even put a person in that position unless it was already directed by the gods-that-be)
“NOBODY...absolutely NOBODY...ever gets “rejected” by such a verbal call to “sustain” a given leader”
Well, it may not mean much to you, but if I was in that ward, I would not only raise my hand in opposition, I would stand while doing it. I’ve caused a few waves before and will probably do it again. Too many have become squishes. We need to change that.
