Get 110% of your Membership Cost Back from Angie’s List

Since Angie’s List does not want your business, you should cancel your membership like I did. After I cancelled, I found out that Angie’s List has a membership Bill of Rights. You can get back 110% of what you paid if you are dissatisfied with your membership.

Considering Angie’s List’s CEO does not want Christians’ business and has contempt for people of faith, I’d suggest you might be dissatisfied with your membership.

I hear Angie’s List is actually now telling businesses their ratings will go down if they don’t buy advertising.

Haven't seen this. We get a good bit of our business thru AL.

Companies that advertise, like ours, usually have a coupon. Those that advertise are listed ahead of those who don't. For some of the most popular categories, this means the non-advertising companies don't even show up on the first page. But you aren't permitted to advertise unless you have an A or B grade from consumers.

AFAIK, the grade is based entirely on customer feedback. That could change, of course. But AL would be shooting themselves in the foot if they do, as that's been their big selling point.

Of course, businesses do shoot themselves in the foot all the time.

Angie’s list is a joke as far as I’m concerned, my neighbor used them to source a plumber to run a new water main, 3/4 in. copper at 60’, so incompetent they couldn’t pass inspection because they did not follow code (repeatedly) and they left an open trench for the six weeks it took to do a half day job correctly.

I went to Angie’s List and saw the page about the 110% refund. Someone needs to get a screenshot of that page and save it, because I suspect Angie’s List will scrub it shortly.

The money’s important, but the message is moreso.

Exactly. We need to make them pay in financial blood, even wreck them if possible. Then we need to turn to the next target and do the same.

Unfortunately I doubt we have the necessary resolve anymore.

We need to send out on email, twitter, facebook: Cancel Angie’s List and Get 110% Back

Exactly right.

I got out of Angie’s List last fall when I came up for renewal. Discovered Thumbtack quite by accident and am very pleased. One contractor replaced my driveway and did an excellent work. That guy gave me the name of a handyman who is just awesome and affordable. Plus all of them that have done work for me were born in the USA.

Received an email from Angie’s List today wanting me to come back and giving a 30 day free trial and 50% discount after that. Shared my opinion on their organization so don’t think I’ll have to worry about any more invites.

I quit last night too and had the exact lines foisted on me that 11th got. Be careful as they try to just not renew you on your renewal date rather than CANCELING your account immediately. They got my message loud and clear I am quite sure.

“I went to their site once expecting to see a list of plumbers. Then I found out I had to pay to see their list. How dumb do they think I am? (Very dumb, apparently) No way I’m paying them to keep a list.”

Dittos as Rushbo would say. I had the same reaction a few years ago.

Now that the fecal matter is hitting the fan, will we find out that many of their recommendations paid to get recommended?

Businesses controlled by left wing rats are learning the hard way.

My membership is a "FREE" one because there aren't many people in my area.

I'm going to go cancel something that is FREE -- hopefully that will send a message that I don't want their service even if they give it away !!

Why should I pay for something that I can go to my local hardware store and find out? Most every town has at least one hardware store and they know everybody and everything when it comes to plumbers, painters etc. Can catch up on the local gossip too.

I'm of the thought that a cancellation for something FREE may send a bit more of a message than one that the person had to pay for.

At no cost to me, I can use their service, but I CHOOSE not to because of what they said/did.

Totally concur - they need the numbers.

Angie's List used to advertise on RUSH - I would assume many of her users are/were conservatives - this could be a fatal business flaw for them.
