NASCAR: Indiana law fosters intolerance, exclusion
Orlando Sentinel ^ | March 31, 2015 | George Diaz

Perhaps Indiana Gove. Mike Pence and state lawmakers should revisit the “religious freedom” legislation. They’ve officially lost NASCAR , a sport that, despite its growing diversity, still has a strong conservative base.

“NASCAR is disappointed by the recent legislation passed in Indiana,” said NASCAR Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer Brett Jewkes, in a statement released Tuesday.

“We will not embrace nor participate in exclusion or intolerance. We are committed to diversity and inclusion within our sport and therefore will continue to welcome all competitors and fans at our events in the state of Indiana and anywhere else we race.”

I don’t watch NASCAR...but it irks me when they fall for the same claptrap...

20-30 States already have http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Religious_Freedom_Restoration_Acts Obama voted for his State’s version as a State Senator.
Most of these are where NASCAR makes it money !

Apparently modeled on the Federal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_Freedom_Restoration_Act Signed by President Bill Clinton.

Too bad so many(opinion leaders) in this country do not have two brain cells close enough together to read and understand.

Ted Cruz stood up and was counted...he can read and understand and is not stampeded.

I did send a comment to George Diaz and to Charlotte International Speedway/NASCAR.

Thanks for that. I wasn’t sure exactly where “spiritual delusion” was mentioned in Scripture, but I knew that it was.

Romans 1 has something to say on the subject as well.

I wonder how many in the “LGBT” community actually attend NASCAR races?

I always wanted to see NASCAR go faster. I just didn't expect them to speed up their own demise.

LOL!!! Bump!!!

The gloves are off.

Boycott NASCAR.
Not until they apologize...until they fold.

I don’t think they know who their fans are.
Let the 2% support them.

I wonder how many seats NASCAR will sell to a Lesbian and Gay only crowd . . .

If you want to make a statement, cancel your events in Indiana.

It's pure grandstanding - and for what?

I am no longer a NASCAR fan so I do not really care what NASCAR does or does not do.

Exactly. The left thinks NASCAR and its fans are a bunch of rednecks, and no amount of pandering to them will change that perception.

And the automated response.....

“First and foremost, we want to thank you for your interest in NASCAR. You can be assured that we take your feedback seriously. Everyone at NASCAR understands that the success of our sport depends on the support of the fans.

We read every e-mail we receive from our fans and respond to as many as possible. Thanks again, and we hope you enjoy the rest of the season.”

NO, it is abject COWARDICE!!

Probably some of both. It takes a moron not to see the purpose of the law and why it needs to be on the books. It takes cowarice to feel compelled to make stupid statements like this under the pressure of leftwing hate groups.
