The history behind that comment is that Ben Carson made the claim that the lifestyle was a choice, offering the examples of prisons up as support.
Dan’s reply (on television) was that Ben could prove that point by doing the described action. It was a vile response and one that if done using a heterosexual connotation would have resulted in public outrage and severe consequences. Dan should not be let off the hook for his actions.
