The National Black Church Initiative (NBCI), a faith-based coalition of 34,000 churches comprised of 15 denominations and 15.7 million African-Americans, has broken its fellowship with Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) following its recent vote to approve same-sex marriage.
The Presbyterian General Assembly, the top legislative body of the PCUSA, voted last June to revise the constitutional language defining marriage. This arbitrary change of Holy Scripture is a flagrantly pretentious and illegitimate maneuver by a body that has no authority whatsoever to alter holy text.
Rev. Anthony Evans, NBCI President noted:
"NBCI and its membership base are simply standing on the Word of God within the mind of Christ. We urge our brother and sisters of the PCUSA to repent and be restored to fellowship."
"PCUSA's manipulation represents a universal sin against the entire church and its members. With this action, PCUSA can no longer base its teachings on 2,000 years of Christian scripture and tradition, and call itself a Christian entity in the body of Christ. It has forsaken its right by this single wrong act.
"Apostle Paul warns us about this when he declared in Galatians 1:8 that there are those who will preach another gospel.
"For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. ... For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
"No church has the right to change the Word of God. By voting to redefine marriage PCUSA automatically forfeits Christ's saving grace...

True ...
Another thing about black Americans. Their family histories go way back to the founding of the country. Why are they so silent on Hussein bringing in all the illegals. The blacks have a long American history.
> It is because of stuff like this that Ted Cruz just might get a big chunk of the Black vote.
That would be great because I’m sick and tired of the racial division created by 0 and his moron minions when it really boils down to good vs evil....
To show ‘em you mean it, stop all contributions.
I wonder if anyone is compiling a list of these churches. Seems they would be open to like minded candidates.
Ted Cruz and Rand Paul were the only Repubs voting AGAINST the recent Congressional budget. Neither one will get my vote.
Do you know WHY they voted against it?
I would find that out before writing off Cruz.
Rand isn’t worth a bucket of warm spit.
Our small PCUSA in the middle of nowhere will be leaving them. My hope is that we can convince the visiting PCUSA body that they need to change. We are prepared to forfeit our building and money to get out of it.
Good for them. A Denomination that normalizes homosexuality needs to be marginalized.
One thing is certain, the current line-up of candidates are the usual suspects.
And then there's Cruz who isn't one of "those politicians".
is matt vines and rachel evans going declare these black pastors hypocrites and bigots?
A black Presbyterian Church offered us their parking lot for our Tea Party Rally parking...I’ll never forget that.

Too bad they don't accept as speakers candidates for POTUS.

Please remember that love hopes.
The Catholic Church has a problem: The Popes have been letting the culture dictate what is important.
Prime example: No Pope has acted as though the rampant practice of Communion-for-abortionists is a real problem. JPII was utterly silent about it. BXVI created Wuerl and Burke Cardinals at the same Mass, long after they had publicly squared off on the issue of Communion-for-abortionists. He could not have signaled any more clearly that his past statements about the issue were just pretty words. Bergoglio has some pretty words about the issue in his past, also, but he appoints bishops who have been positively vociferous in support of Communion-for-abortionists—Cupich and McElroy.
Result: Now Communion-for-adulterers and Communion-for-gay-couples are the rule rather than the exception. Every large diocese in the U.S. has one or two or even more very overtly “gay-friendly” parishes, and “Dignity Masses.” If Nancy Pelosi and gay couples receive Communion, by what right are adulterers and fornicators denied Communion? None.
Well argued.

Seen this? It’s truly pathetic. I seem to recall kids in high school and college who had discovered the magic words: “Things aren’t always black and white.” Oh, the blinding light of intellect!
Turns out, that’s ALL Winters has to say in response to Burke.
Of course, all the outrage about Burke’s comments just goes to demonstrate once again that liberals don’t get analogies, or don’t want to. If you say A is to B as X is to Y, they say: “How dare you say that A and X are exactly the same!” Or: “Why are you changing the subject? We were talking about A, not X!”
