GREENLAND, N.H. – Sen. Ted Cruz continued his two-day presidential campaign swing through New Hampshire on Saturday morning with a speech to the Seacoast Republican Women.
. . .
Before entering the room, Cruz expanded on an allegation he aired Friday, that GOP leaders had cut off his access to campaign donations as retribution for his role in the 16-day government shutdown in October 2013.
In 2013 we got quite a bit of money from DC PACs, and when the defund fight happened that dropped to almost zero, Cruz said, asked to clarify the allegation he aired Friday.
Who does he blame?
It was leadership, he said, declining to specify whether that meant his fellow Texan, Sen. John Cornyn, the deputy GOP Senate leader, or Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell, then the minority leader and now the majority leader. It was a very explicit direction from leadership, both [Utah Sen.] Mike Lee and I funding all but disappeared from Washington.
Pressure was applied, he said.
We had multiple reports from the DC community that they had been told in no uncertain terms, do not write a check to these guys. Its how leadership disciplines people. Thats always been the case.
Cruz had just been elected in 2012. For Lee Cruzs wingman in the fight to scrap Obamacare — cutting off funding could have more immediate implications. Hes up for reelection next year in Utah.

Yes, exactly right.
Good.
Keep exposing them Ted!
The GOP leadership fights conservatives more than the RATS and are just as dirty as the RATS.
Go Cruz GO!!!
Keep telling the truth about the backstabbing bastards!
“It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.” - Samuel Adams
Cruz reaches the heart of Americans. ..and they ARE listening!
Cruz will have to fight both parties and the press. It is a fight that needs to be fought.
And this Brian Walsh can KMA!!!
Guess who won?! heh heh heh I can see the same with Cruz.
Yes, they are! They desperately want the USA to feel wholesome again!
It is distressing to see Tocqueville’s quote ‘when she ceases to be good, she will cease to be great’ happening before our very eyes.
Since it’s not beyond the GOPe to ‘run a hundred dollar bill through a trailer park’, the Cruz planners better plan for the almost certain trumped up sexual harassment allegations methinks.
If Cruz gains even more momentum, my bet is more girls will come out from nowhere than Bill Cosby.
Although totally false, Karl and the butt-kissing RINO’s won’t give a rat’s ass about the damage to Mrs. Cruz or his two daughters.
Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.[Posted on 11/19/2013 12:16:51 PM by Third Person]
